THE SECOND MOVIE – EPISODE V – THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK

In the second Star Wars instalment, the 5th episode, Darth Vader sends out scouts around the galaxy looking for the rebel’s base. One droid lands on the ice planet Hoth and locates the base so he sends clumsy looking AT-AT attack droids to penetrate the defensive shielding. With the help of Luke Skywalker, most of the rebel’s escape the planet not before Han and Leia get a quick smooch in. Ghost Kenobi, the spirit form of Obi Wan appears and tells Luke to travel to Dagobah to meet Yoda, an ancient Jedi master who can teach him the ways of the Jedi. He travels with R2 D2 and they land on the swampy planet.

Han and Leia head to the Cloud City, a mining colony that is administrated by Han’s old friend, Lando Calrissian. Unfortunately, it turns out to be trap as a bounty hunter, Bobba Fett, had followed them since they left Hoth. He told Vader and he came to get them at the Cloud City. He has no real interest in Han Solo and freezes him in carbon before handing him over to Bobba Fett who takes Han to Jabba the Hutt, the ugly giant slug who is wants his money. Lando manages to get Leia to safety but Luke cuts short his training and turns up to rescue his friends.

Of course, it is a trap set by the dastardly Dart Vader who wants to lure Luke to the dark side of the force. The have a lightsaber fight and the inexperienced Luke is beaten up pretty bad, he even loses a hand in the duel. Vader tells Luke that he is actually his father and almost gets him to sign up to the Empire but he jumps off a ledge and falls out the Cloud City garbage chute. Leia, whilst fleeing the Cloud City feels the presence of her brother and demands to go back where they collect Luke who was hanging on a Cloud City television aerial. Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca head off to find Han Solo whilst Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker await the next movie.
